Amy Finlay-Jones

Head of the Early Neurodevelopment & Mental Health team, The Kids Research Institute Australia

Associate Professor Amy Finlay-Jones is the Head of the Early Neurodevelopment & Mental Health team at the Telethon Kids Institute in Perth, Western Australia. Her work focuses on improving positive mental health and developmental outcomes across the early life course, with a particular passion for supporting the wellbeing and quality of life of young people with chronic illness and disability. Amy has trained internationally to deliver numerous mindfulness- and compassion-based interventions, including programs from Stanford University and the University of California, San Diego. She also developed the world’s first online self-compassion training program. In addition to her roles at the Telethon Kids Institute, Amy is a registered psychologist and health economist, with research interests spanning clinical research, health systems research, policy development, and economic evaluation.
